Our Verdict
I recently tested the 85W PD Thunderbolt-Compatible External GPU Dock to see if it could genuinely bridge the gap between portable office laptops and desktop-level graphical power. This device acts as a sleek, high-bandwidth bridge, using 40Gbps Thunderbolt technology to deliver external processing capabilities to both Windows machines and Macbooks.
Performance & Build Quality
The unit features a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that feels premium while remaining lightweight at approximately 480g. It is well-engineered to accommodate various power supplies, including ATX, SFX, and FLEX formats, which gives you significant flexibility in how you build your external station.
Day-to-Day Experience
Setting up the dock is straightforward, especially with the included screwdrivers and brackets for different PSU types. The 85W power delivery is a major convenience, as it charges my laptop through the same cable that handles data transfer, effectively removing the need for a separate charging brick on my desk.
This dock is ideal for digital creators, gamers, and professionals who need to switch between a portable laptop and a high-performance desktop graphics setup.
